AAMI Kooyong Classic

AC EVENT INFORMATION

Venue Information

Overview

This intimate, boutique tournament has become the traditional Australian Open preparation for 8 of the world’s top players. The "promotion/relegation" format allows each to play 3 matches at Kooyong, the spiritual home of Australian tennis, over the 4 day period, while tuning up for the first Grand Slam of the year.

Australia’s own Bernard Tomic, in winning the 2012 event, joined an elite list of past champions, including Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, Lleyton Hewitt and Michael Chang.

A popular inclusion in the past two years has been exhibition matches by some of the great Legends of the game interspersed throughout the event. Showcasing world-class present and former players appeals to both the younger and older generations.
